After one of the recent upgrades to Windows 10, my Dell Laptop brightness is off the charts. I can find no way to adjust it. The function buttons no longer work. Under settings, the display setting provides no adjustment for brightness. I've read online about others having this problem a few years ago; I haven't found anyone talking about it as a recent issue. I have tried the fixes that were listed; none of them have worked. Please Help.

Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager
Expand Display adapters
Right click the current display adapter
Click Properties
Click Driver tab
Click Rollback driver if the option is available
If not
Right click the current display adapter
Click Uninstall
Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device.”
Exit Device Manager
Restart
Go to Start -> Settings -> Update & security, then Check for updates and install any available updates.

Meanwhile I have regained control of my pc in another way, by switching to safe mode *with networking*. The pc was able to automatically download the video card driver, and after reboot all was fine.
But the brightness issue is still not solved.
I installed for good measure the latest version of my NVIDIA adapter driver but nothing changed.
Waiting for a fix from MS now...
I have the same problem in my Galaxy Tabpro S , after the last big update from windows my brightness level is at maximum all the time and I cant control it anymore , I have tried all the possibles solutions first I downgrade to the previews windows build did not work then I tried to upgrade the display driver did not work either and I even format the Windows with no solution to this annoying problem . Please upgrade the drivers is almost impossible to work at night with that brightness level. Thanks.
One more thing I also notice that with this last update the touchscreen also have some problems none of the touch controls were available it was not responding at all. That was the final motive that make me format the windows tablet.

getting the same issue. common microsoft please push the required update else its tough using ur laptop now. what kind of silly mistakes do you all do? how is it that so many people have got the same issue.. please do something. its really straining my eye after ur may 2018 update
