If you have an eight pin code requirement, entering four characters on both keyboards still will not work.
For example:
What follows are steps showing you how to do these varied or incomplete instructions:
Click "Bluetooth and other devices" in Control Panel; OR Enter "Bluetooth" at the magnifying glass to simply select "Bluetooth and other devices... settings.* "
Click the Plus Sign (+) "Add Bluetooth or other device."
Click the appropriate: "Add device."
- When you see the window/field asking you for a pin that you do not know (4 either/or 8 char)
- First type X characters into that field using the laptop keyboard:
12345678 Enter ()
- Secondly X characters using the external Bluetooth keyboard:
12345678 Enter ()
You're in buddy!
Unless your keyboard requires a 4 character pin, then you must go back and enter a four character pin on each keyboard in the sequence above. For absolute morons like me, I have entered your instructions, particularly if you have had too much caffeine.
- Enter the following in the field that asks for a pin that you do not know (either 4 /or 8 char)**
- First type X characters into that field using the laptop keyboard:
1234 Enter ()
- Secondly X characters using the external Bluetooth keyboard:
1234 Enter ()
*Unless your keyboard requires that you press and hold down a small reset button that puts the external keyboard into Bluetooth broadcast mode so it can be seen. Then follow the instructions above.
**Or try all zeros.
