This update has failed 21 times+. I have run trouble shooter and it is green.

Everything looks good until after the reboot. Stuck in a bad loop.

Event log:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070BC2: 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892).

Any help would be appreciated.

PLEASE FIX THIS.  This update has failed over 20 times.

Surely at least one Microsoft employee is smart enough to fix this problem.  A simple call to any of the people suffering from the problem would allow this one employee to see what's wrong.

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY.

Hi

open CMD as administrator, an type one by one:

SC config wuauserv start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config bits start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config cryptsvc start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto [Press Enter]

reboot system

Hope this helps!

The problem continues. I tried *all* recommendations available on this and other blogs. Dell Optiplex 790 i7-2600, Win10 version 1709, OS Build 16299.334

"2018-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4093112) Status: Awaiting restart".

I tried the manual update method 3 times. Same results with endless repeats. Broken and not fixed.

I have the same problem: KB 4074588 fails to install with error code 0x80070BC2 (in Windows log files).  It just keeps wanting to update the same over and over.

Now........ would manually downloading and manually installing the most recent cumulative update (April 10, 2018—KB4093112 (OS Build 16299.371)) solve this whole mess?  Seems reasonable.  Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

    ernliz,

I manually downloaded the update before this current one and that seemed to work but when the new one KB4093112 tries to download now I get the same error message as the one before and it will not as of yet let me download that one manually. Might be worth a try.
