This update has failed 21 times+. I have run trouble shooter and it is green.

Everything looks good until after the reboot. Stuck in a bad loop.

Event log:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070BC2: 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892).

Any help would be appreciated.

PLEASE FIX THIS.  This update has failed over 20 times.

Surely at least one Microsoft employee is smart enough to fix this problem.  A simple call to any of the people suffering from the problem would allow this one employee to see what's wrong.

EXTREMELY UNHAPPY.

Hi

open CMD as administrator, an type one by one:

SC config wuauserv start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config bits start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config cryptsvc start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto [Press Enter]

reboot system

Hope this helps!

    ernliz,

You have absolutely nothing to lose by manually downloading.  It may or may not work.  This forum is full (and very large) of suggestions on how to solve the problem.  And, most, if not all, have helped some people.  The problem is you don't know ahead of time which scheme will work for you.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the info on your experience.  I've got to solve this issue (as do many others) because I can't get any future updates as long as that KB 4074588 stalls the update process.

There's a CMD set of instructions to try, as noted in a previous message above.  Might give that a try.

Let me know if you have any success.  Good luck.

Like I said earlier, I tried this about 5 times by now. Having performed the command and restarted, the status for the (KB4093112) is now: Awaiting install.

When it is installed, status is: Awaiting Restart. It never completes and shows up as a failed install. Rinse and repeat.
