Getting error 0x80070BC2 doing Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892)

I go to the "Type here to search" and type in CMD and Command Prompt window opens, shows (displays) "c: \users\myname>"

When I type in the first entry "SC config wuauserv start= auto" and then press enter it displays "Access is denied"   fml!

If I run Command Prompt I also get  C:\Users\Myname  and the banner at the top of the window displays Command Prompt

If I run Command Prompt as Administrator I get  C:\WINDOWS\system32  and the banner displays  Administrator: Command Prompt

So it is obvious that, although you are the Administrator of your PC, you are not running the Command Prompt in Administrator mode.

When you go to run Command Prompt you need to right click (instead of left click) and select Run as administrator and then click on Yes.  Check that the Window banner then displays  Administrator: Command Prompt

open CMD as administrator, an type one by one:

SC config wuauserv start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config bits start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config cryptsvc start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto [Press Enter]

reboot system

It worked! All updates have been installed!

To access the Command Prompt in Windows 10, do the following:

1. Move your cursor to the white space in the lower left hand corner where it says "type here to search"  (this is next to the Windows Start button;
2. Type the letters "CMD" (without quotes) in the search area BUT DO NOT hit the enter/return key;
3. Somewhere in the popup window that results should be words "Command Prompt";
4. Move your cursor over the words "command prompt" and Right Click;
5. Another little popup menu should display and one of the options should be "Run as Administrator".
6. Move your cursor over this option and LEFT Click;
7. A "User Access Control" popup will display.  LEFT Click on YES.
8. Finally, a Command Prompt window running as Administrator should be created as a result.

If this doesn't work then there is an additional problem with your system.  If you provide the exact step that fails (and how), someone may be able to help address the issue.
