Getting error 0x80070BC2 doing Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892)

OK.  Let's try something a little different.  If you RIGHT click on the Microsoft Start button you should see the option "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" in the popup window.  LEFT click on this option.  A window called "Administrator: Windows Powershell" should open up.  It should look like a Command Prompt window because they are almost the same. 

The commands you enter into the Powershell window need one small modification to work.  For example:

SC.EXE  CONFIG BITS START=AUTO

As you probably noticed, the only difference is entering SC.EXE instead of SC.  So, go ahead and type this command.  If you get the response "SUCCESS" repeat this command for the other 3 services CRYPTSVC, WUAUSERV and TRUSTEDINSTALLER.

This change is what finally worked for me.  I have seen quite a few people say it worked for them.  I've also seen a number that said it didn't help.

could it be a different one because there's like three different versions?

i used the first one on apps and i right clicked and it was the administrator one.

I have completely lost track of your exact problem.  I have only been trying to help people with issues trying to run Windows "Command Prompt as an Administrator".  If this is your problem, please restate your exact issue/problem.  If this isn't your problem, I probably can't help.

oh okay sorry but just incase you know how to help me i basically ran CMD as administrator and everything was successful apart from the last part when i wrote reboot and clicked enter it said the file cannot be found or something.

I was able to get to administrator PowerShell and input all the SC prompts. I was excited because it was updating for a long time so I thought all was ok. When I went to the Windows update settings it still shows that KB4088776 failed. So i ran the trouble shooter and the message said it was not able to repair windows update database corruption. At lease I was able to open the administrator PowerShell. 

Thank you so much for that. Now If I can just figure out how to get this update to install so my computer does not keep restarting to try to run this update.
