Getting error 0x80070BC2 doing Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892)

This update has failed 21 times+. I have run trouble shooter and it is green.

Everything looks good until after the reboot. Stuck in a bad loop.

Event log:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070BC2: 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4056892).

Any help would be appreciated.

PLEASE FIX THIS.  This update has failed over 20 times.

Surely at least one Microsoft employee is smart enough to fix this problem.  A simple call to any of the people suffering from the problem would allow this one employee to see what's wrong.

open CMD as administrator, an type one by one:

SC config wuauserv start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config bits start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config cryptsvc start= auto [Press Enter]

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto [Press Enter]

reboot system

    Dear FatimaIqbal,

    I really am confused about what you're doing.  As a result, I don't think I can help you.  But here is one last piece of information.

    1. The reason some user have entered SC commands into the Command Prompt running as administration is to change the default start mode for the 4 system services that are involved with Windows Update.  Making this change has helped some people to finally install the Windows Update that keeps hanging.  If you don't have this problem, there is nothing to do.
    2. Once you have gotten into Command Prompt (Admin), enter the 4 commands (see list in prior postings).  Once entered, you simply reboot your computer by using one of the options in the Microsoft Start button.   I think you confused "rebooting your computer" with typing "reboot" somewhere.  You do not type "reboot".
    3. If you're lucky the Windows Update will start installing.  This doesn't happen for everybody.  It did work for me.

    Laura,

    OK.  Let's try something a little different.  If you RIGHT click on the Microsoft Start button you should see the option "Windows PowerShell (Admin)" in the popup window.  LEFT click on this option.  A window called "Administrator: Windows Powershell" should open up.  It should look like a Command Prompt window because they are almost the same. 

    The commands you enter into the Powershell window need one small modification to work.  For example:

    SC.EXE  CONFIG BITS START=AUTO

    As you probably noticed, the only difference is entering SC.EXE instead of SC.  So, go ahead and type this command.  If you get the response "SUCCESS" repeat this command for the other 3 services CRYPTSVC, WUAUSERV and TRUSTEDINSTALLER.

    This change is what finally worked for me.  I have seen quite a few people say it worked for them.  I've also seen a number that said it didn't help.

    could it be a different one because there's like three different versions?

    i used the first one on apps and i right clicked and it was the administrator one.

    this happens when i try do it from settings or the pop up comes up everyday x

    basically i think reboot its'nt a term or it can't be found
