Host process for windows tasks is using the webcam

Since the update to 1709 I keep getting every few hours “Host process for windows tasks is using the webcam”.

Is this safe and normal?

I have the HP Envy running windows 10 pro.

Hi all... Update

I have Kaspersky internet security and it's that is displaying the report so If you have Kaspersky internet security that telling you the web cam is been used so this is what I did: -

Go to windows settings… Privacy… Camera…  then I turned off “Let apps use my camera hardware” and up to now it’s never reported web cam been used up to now after about 10 hours.

    It is nice to eventually find out that Kaspersky found that and notifies you about it. I did the same procedure and denied access to camera from Kaspersky not Windows 10 setting.

    Having spent many days(and nights) sorting out the problems of the 1709 update on both one of my PC's and my daughters Laptop, I feel rather P£$$3d.

    In all the threads on this Forum not once has a representative of Microsoft even acknowledged the problems. From the Start menu not working to a laptop going into a startup spin to failure to update and lastly this problem.

    Or is it a problem???

    I would like someone from Microsoft to post on here, and on other threads, why ,we, loyal users of there OS ( I have been using windows since Windows 2) to say why we have been subjected to this shambles. Also what right have they to override our privacy settings, and render our computers useless.

    Actually, I would not like it, I demand it. The amount of money I have poured into your accounts over the years must give me that right.

    dear HP maybe it was the only way to get them out of my video camera operations... I had Kaspersky and it did nothing to stop anyone from using my video camera on my computer ...so the technicians debugged my computer and said they took out anyone using my video camera... sorry if you don't think that going to the geek squad helped..but it was the only option for us...no one at microsoft gave us any help or Kaspersky ...

    My dear friend,

    a statement "I took my computer to the geek squad" is nice but does not help anybody. It would be nice to know what they did to it and how.

    So far I used my Kaspersky program to deny any accesss to my camera and microphone and have since seen no notice either.
