Host process for windows tasks is using the webcam

Since the update to 1709 I keep getting every few hours “Host process for windows tasks is using the webcam”.

Is this safe and normal?

I have the HP Envy running windows 10 pro.

Hi all... Update

I have Kaspersky internet security and it's that is displaying the report so If you have Kaspersky internet security that telling you the web cam is been used so this is what I did: -

Go to windows settings… Privacy… Camera…  then I turned off “Let apps use my camera hardware” and up to now it’s never reported web cam been used up to now after about 10 hours.

    I took my COMPUTER To the GEEK SQUAD and had them get the bugs out of my computer camera ...have not seen the notice since of someone using my computer cam

    This is the right decision, if more of us would consider other system software, even if its not that easy to handle, then Miccisoft could perhaps think over their policy. First they should provide the community with a software that really works and not take years to run as expected.

    Ubuntu is the right choice, keep on going and you will have no need for Miccisoft.

    Hi  --  I also don't trust microsoft needing to use the webcam.I have fiddled about with Kaspersky and got it to block all webcam access until I tell it otherwise.Quite often it notifies me that it has blocked access(2 or 3 times per hour!  This is an indication of Microsofts nosiness to my mind!  I have recently downloaded Ubuntu and am familiarising myself with that. I think the future lies that way.
