This rate of battery discharge is perfectly normal, you would even expect it to have discharged more.

I think your problem has been solved by replacing the battery.

Now go monitor things to see how it develops.

You should also choose to change the battery, following the example of GingX  that got a battery for a great price.

I also replaced my battery two days ago. After market item so it does not have the same life as the original one but definitely better that the one I had. The new one still dropped to 6% and when I plugged it, it jumped to 24%. I assume it will need a few days for the phone to learn the new battery profile. 

I love my phone so it totally was worth the effort.

Usually replacement batteries are not as effective as the original batteries, but as you said well it is better than having one that doesn't work at all.

Probably after a few charge and discharge cycles the battery will begin to behave more evenly.

Where do you buy a replacement battery and how do you replace it? The can not open, yes. Alcatel idol 4 pro

Try a Google search to find battery suppliers and prices.

To replace you need technical skills , if you don’t have them take the phone and the battery to a technician.
