Battery Draining In Alcatel Idol 4S

I have an Alcatel Idol 4S with windows 10 and when it is not being used the battery drains completely in one day. What is causing this?

    I get 2-3 hours tops.

    Alcatel idol 4 pro 10.0.15254.562 making video's outside in chilly weather, below 10 C causes the battery level to drop to 6% (always 6) reconnect it to a charger or powerbank immediately recovers the battery level after that I could use it for many hours

    Extreme cold can have that kind of effect on batterie, specially if it passes the battery operating temperature limits.

    I broke down and replaced the battery yesterday. Local shop wanted $75. Bought one on Amazon with tools for $18. Took about half an hour. And fingers crossed, it seems to be doing good. The battery showed 47% charge when I replaced it. I used it the rest of the evening and it only dropped to 33%.

    That's great!  Mine got so bad I quit using it. I even tried an external battery and it would say it drained and then shut down, even when the battery was not drained.  I've been using a Fierce XL.  I'm thinking mine has some kind of defect.  However, if yours was doing like that and a new battery cured it, it would be worth $18 to find out.  I may try it and see.

    I also replaced my battery two days ago. After market item so it does not have the same life as the original one but definitely better that the one I had. The new one still dropped to 6% and when I plugged it, it jumped to 24%. I assume it will need a few days for the phone to learn the new battery profile. 

    I love my phone so it totally was worth the effort.
