Windows 10 100 Percent Disk Usage Problem

Please microsoft give me a windows update that updates my operation system from windows 10  to windows 7.

Totally agree with Chris. How much trouble is it for Microsoft to Google this problem to see it affects many. Question for Microsoft:  Why does Task Manager not show what task(s) this disk usage is allocated to? This is like "unreported overhead" that can't be accounted for. Why can't you account for it? It certainly would be big indicator if you could just report on what task(s) this is being allocated to. This seems to be a Microsoft problem and not a hardware/firmware problem. It never used to happen with Windows 10. Now it does. I had this issue again a couple of days ago. Let it run its course and 15 minutes later all was back to normal.

Go look up on the internet command for cmd how to stop superfetch program and then in services.msc disable it along with every service that is used for telemetry. This will take down some disc usage. Yoh can also reduce it by turning off firewall and disable windows search in the services.msc and if you have xbox apps on your pc or laptop disable every service from xbox that u can especially if you dont use it. Go to app settings, windows 10 settings not control panel and delete all microsoft apps that u really dont need. Then in task manager if you still have high disc usage end tasks like java update scheduler, adobe update scheduler,google installer and google crash handler. And end windows defender smart screen and windows modules installer,windows defender notification icon and ine drive services. But most of tasks that u end in task manager youll have to end every time. That helps me to reduce my disc usage I hope this will help u.

Thanks! I used this tool once before and forgot about it. It's a great tool... and free! You get it in a Zip file and need to unzip it. For those who let their WinZip trial expire under new WIndows 10 (like I did), there is a freeware program called 7-Zip that does the job. To get the READ and WRITE columns added to your  Process Explorer screen you just start the program and go into View, Select Columns, Process I/O and checkmark the Read and Write boxes.

I have the same/similar issue. Noticed it in the last couple of months. I believe this is after a couple Windows 10 updates. Things get slow. I look and see Disk at 100%. I have stopped Norton Antivirus with no change. I have rebooted with no change. It seems to need to run its course for a period of time then recovers after 10 or 15 minutes. Are the problems recorded here constant 100% or does it recover periodically? Have had WIndows 10 and this Latitude E6530 for years now with no problem until recently. So far, it always recovers after a time.
