Is it possible to uninstall the Windows 10 update assistant? When i delete it it just automaticly reinstalls itself when i start the pc again

Its soo **** annoying and i just want the <removed> poppup  to disapear. when i try update it just get the wrong code but i cant fix it so i just want to delete the **** assistant permanently.

The Update Assistant in Windows 10 cannot be uninstalled, but you can get rid of it

Click your Start Button, type Task Scheduler and hit enter

In the left Pane, navigate to: Windows - Update Orchestrater

Right Pane double click 'Update Assistant'

Click on Triggers Tab

On each of the triggers ( At login . . . etc.) double click and uncheck 'Enabled'

Under 'Update Assistant, there is another event 'Update Assistant CalendarRun'

Do the same for all triggers on that event

Restart your system, that's It!

    I figured out how to get to the triggers to disable them using the list in the top of the centre pane in the window. Thanks

    Hey Dave,

    The confusion for some of us, me for sure, is that on my WIN 10 Home version...

    1. There is not an entry for Windows - Update Orchestrator...there is WindowsUpdate
    2. There is NO 'Update Assistant' in the Right pane, there is a Center pane that has

            A. Automatic App Update

            B. Scheduled Start

    1. I did go in to both & did as you instructed...uncheck "Enabled" & rebooted.

    QUESTIONS & CONCERNS regarding PC's not on Compatibility list for Update 1709 (like mine)

    1. How can USERS pick & choose future updates?
    2. The need is to continue to have the PC up to date but NOT 1709?
    3. Can you or someone in MS provide us a PROCESS please?

    My PC is up to date except for 1709 & that is due to the compatibility list.
