Is it possible to uninstall the Windows 10 update assistant? When i delete it it just automaticly reinstalls itself when i start the pc again

Like what DaveM121 said, you cannot uninstall The Update Assistant in Windows 10.

You can try to uninstall Windows 10 Update Assistant by following these steps:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Click Uninstall a program.
3. Right click on Windows Update Assistant.
4. Click Uninstall.

Of course that works: I do it at least twice daily!   The program then re-installs itself and makes another attempt to update Windows 10 - which, for reasons unknown to anyone (probably including itself), it finds impossible.

My (and others') question is how one can unstall the update assistant permanently.

You can try to uninstall Windows 10 Update Assistant by following these steps:

1. Open Control Panel.
2. Click Uninstall a program.
3. Right click on Windows Update Assistant.
4. Click Uninstall.

The Update Assistant in Windows 10 cannot be uninstalled, but you can get rid of it

Click your Start Button, type Task Scheduler and hit enter

In the left Pane, navigate to: Windows - Update Orchestrater

Right Pane double click 'Update Assistant'

Click on Triggers Tab

On each of the triggers ( At login . . . etc.) double click and uncheck 'Enabled'

Under 'Update Assistant, there is another event 'Update Assistant CalendarRun'

Do the same for all triggers on that event

Restart your system, that's It!

"Windows Update Orchestrator" does not appear to exist.  Indeed the task scheduler contains no references to Windows programs - though there are lots relating to Google. 

If anyone knows a satisfactory way of permanently deleting the Windows 10 updater I would dearly like to know since having to remove it by hand several times a day after failed updates is driving me mad!
