Windows 10 update sucks.

I'm running windows 10 since the very beginning and it is ok. Better saying, it was ok until 2 days ago when my computer was updated to the biggest update ever done. It happens that now it takes years to boot and a few minutes ago (that's when I turned it on) my fingerprint reader does not work anymore and during boot the monitor goes off just after windows starts. I wonder if Microsoft is paying the salaries of those programmers responsible for this update. Perhaps they have done something wrong to upset Microsoft, or is it just stupidity?

Now, I WANT my computer to work the way it did before this stupid update. I don´t won't to remember dozens of usernames and passwords (that's why I spent a lot of money buying a fingerprint reader, which now is useless due to the unprofessional update made by Microsoft). My Microsoft trackball runs or not runs after boot. Is this normal? Don't you test your programs before releasing them to the public?

Do you know what? You suck, just because you wanted to do this major update before Christmas. Well... you've ruined my Christmas with it. SHAME ON YOU!

Hello,

It is possible that system files might have been damaged or corrupted after installing an update, or that the update installed has known issues.

For resolving corrupted system files, you may run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair the system for corrupted system files. For information about running the tool, kindly see this article.

However, some issues occur only after installing a certain update. An example of a known issue in an update is after installing KB4074588 (latest update), USB devices, such as keyboard or mouse, stop working. Microsoft is already aware of this issue and will provide a resolution through an update. To see the list of known issues for each update, kindly see Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 update history.

If the System File Checker tool does not help, you can restore your PC from a system restore point. This would take your PC back to a point in time before an update is installed. For information on how to restore your PC from a system restore point, kindly see Recovery options in Windows 10.

After restoring, you may prevent the update from reinstalling by downloading and running the Show and hide updates troubleshooter. To read more about the troubleshooter, kindly read through this article.

    Windows 10 has caused me nothing but headaches. It decided to do an unscheduled update while I was in the middle of negotiating an employment contract and froze my computer. Several reboots later the computer is still frozen at 2% of the update. Needless to say that it destroyed any chance of obtaining this contract. I will be switching over to Mac. Windows 10 is the worst sytem ever.

    The same here. My corporate laptop HP EliteBook 840 was running Win7 for 4 years without major hiccups when in February, I decided to install the corporate Win10 Enterprise iso, which I regret immensely. Initially, everything was okay. The laptop was getting stuck at shut down every now and then, which required a cold turkey reboot, but other than that no major issues to deal with. Last Friday however all hell broke loose when automatic updates pushed the cumulative KB4093119. Reboot was taking forever and after waiting for about an hour, I thought, there goes another stuck reboot and pressed the power button. After that, everything stopped working except browsers and cmd. I was able to get it back to a usable state but issues are popping left and right, drivers failing at random. App works, reboot, and app no longer works. Anyway, ran the update again today and all single updates installed successfully except the cumulative one. Researched the issue and, to my surprise, I found that quite many Win10 users have experienced difficulties with the OS update. I read an article in Bloomberg, I think, about how Microsoft no longer treats Windows as their number one priority, and sure as hell it looks that way. Now I have to recover my system, get backups and install everything all over.

    Today is May 9th, 2018 .. the problem continues. An update comes along, functionality breaks. BASIC functionality .. like PRINTING !
