Windows 10 update sucks.

I'm running windows 10 since the very beginning and it is ok. Better saying, it was ok until 2 days ago when my computer was updated to the biggest update ever done. It happens that now it takes years to boot and a few minutes ago (that's when I turned it on) my fingerprint reader does not work anymore and during boot the monitor goes off just after windows starts. I wonder if Microsoft is paying the salaries of those programmers responsible for this update. Perhaps they have done something wrong to upset Microsoft, or is it just stupidity?

Now, I WANT my computer to work the way it did before this stupid update. I don´t won't to remember dozens of usernames and passwords (that's why I spent a lot of money buying a fingerprint reader, which now is useless due to the unprofessional update made by Microsoft). My Microsoft trackball runs or not runs after boot. Is this normal? Don't you test your programs before releasing them to the public?

Do you know what? You suck, just because you wanted to do this major update before Christmas. Well... you've ruined my Christmas with it. SHAME ON YOU!

It is possible that system files might have been damaged or corrupted after installing an update, or that the update installed has known issues.

For resolving corrupted system files, you may run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair the system for corrupted system files. For information about running the tool, kindly see this article.

However, some issues occur only after installing a certain update. An example of a known issue in an update is after installing KB4074588 (latest update), USB devices, such as keyboard or mouse, stop working. Microsoft is already aware of this issue and will provide a resolution through an update. To see the list of known issues for each update, kindly see Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 update history.

If the System File Checker tool does not help, you can restore your PC from a system restore point. This would take your PC back to a point in time before an update is installed. For information on how to restore your PC from a system restore point, kindly see Recovery options in Windows 10.

After restoring, you may prevent the update from reinstalling by downloading and running the Show and hide updates troubleshooter. To read more about the troubleshooter, kindly read through this article.

You're sure this is Microsoft's problem, right?

I've been using a computer longer than you, and although I've learned a tremendous amount in that time, I still scr*w up. When that happens, my first reaction isn't "Microsoft, fix it!"

The first thing I do is go on the web and research the problem. And I don't do my research in community forums with people who never learned how to operate a computer properly in the first place. I learn from the experts, the pros, the people who know what they're talking about.

Of course software has bugs. Anything made by humans has bugs. But the definition of a bug isn't something somebody doesn't know how to do.

When a computer is setup correctly, updates don't erase pictures. And even if they did, someone with your experience knows to make daily backups. You also know how to troubleshoot hardware. So what's all this crying to Microsoft?

If I knew the answer, I would not post my problem, right? My computer was ready to work within 60 seconds after pressing the on button and now it shuts down the screen as soon windows starts. Then, the HDD LED stays on for long minutes as if the drive is being scanned. The fingerprint reader doesn't come to live, although it is listed under "devices", all users photos have gone and I had to put them back one by one and you're trying to tell me "that's all A OK"? No it isn't! Since windows XP, most updates are OK but we all know that some of them (since that time) give problems. Maybe nor for everyone because not all computers are the same, but we all know what people say in the forums and in Facebook when some updates suck. I agree windows 10 is the best OS ever built, but this last update is giving me problems and I wish it didn't exist. I'm a Microsoft customer since windows 3.1, then windows 98, windows XP, windows Vista, windows 7 and windows 10. I even have brand new install discs of windows server (which I've never installed), so if I'm reporting this problem is because it exists and it bothers me. It is not the first time an update goes wrong and then Microsoft makes a fix for it. Well, I'm waiting for the fix.

I have the same Windows 10 as you, with all the same updates as you, and my computer boots even quicker than it did with Windows 7 back in the day. Why do you think we have such a difference? My computer is 9 years old ... I guess they built them better in those days?
