Windows 10 update sucks.

I'm running windows 10 since the very beginning and it is ok. Better saying, it was ok until 2 days ago when my computer was updated to the biggest update ever done. It happens that now it takes years to boot and a few minutes ago (that's when I turned it on) my fingerprint reader does not work anymore and during boot the monitor goes off just after windows starts. I wonder if Microsoft is paying the salaries of those programmers responsible for this update. Perhaps they have done something wrong to upset Microsoft, or is it just stupidity?

Now, I WANT my computer to work the way it did before this stupid update. I don´t won't to remember dozens of usernames and passwords (that's why I spent a lot of money buying a fingerprint reader, which now is useless due to the unprofessional update made by Microsoft). My Microsoft trackball runs or not runs after boot. Is this normal? Don't you test your programs before releasing them to the public?

Do you know what? You suck, just because you wanted to do this major update before Christmas. Well... you've ruined my Christmas with it. SHAME ON YOU!

Hello,

It is possible that system files might have been damaged or corrupted after installing an update, or that the update installed has known issues.

For resolving corrupted system files, you may run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair the system for corrupted system files. For information about running the tool, kindly see this article.

However, some issues occur only after installing a certain update. An example of a known issue in an update is after installing KB4074588 (latest update), USB devices, such as keyboard or mouse, stop working. Microsoft is already aware of this issue and will provide a resolution through an update. To see the list of known issues for each update, kindly see Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 update history.

If the System File Checker tool does not help, you can restore your PC from a system restore point. This would take your PC back to a point in time before an update is installed. For information on how to restore your PC from a system restore point, kindly see Recovery options in Windows 10.

After restoring, you may prevent the update from reinstalling by downloading and running the Show and hide updates troubleshooter. To read more about the troubleshooter, kindly read through this article.

    I've just updated Windows 10 and it has stuffed up a perfectly good HP laptop. The thing will not print the correct Excel sheet as it reverts to an old sheet (the same sheet every time).  So I am unable to print any Excel work (it prints the whole file 10 sheets every time).

    WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT ON A SYSTEM WHICH WAS OPERATING PERFECTLY BEFORE THE UPDATE!!!

    It's probably too much to expect a fix soon - perhaps better if I reverted to Windows 7?

    Windows 10 is probably more responsible for Mac sales than anything Apple has ever done.  Hate it.  Hassle to re-learn and plenty of miscellaneous annoyances for scant to no benefit.  But on the bright side, I now better appreciate that DOS wasn't that bad.   

    Or finally make the move to LINUX!

    Windows 10 could be a much better OS if Microsoft would polish a version more before a release. The rush to push out these releases just seems to cause problems and sketchy updates that break stuff just adds to the stability issues. I sometimes just want Microsoft to provide a OS and not a Swiss army knife of a OS that does many things but none of them very well. I dealt with issues with every major release of Windows going back years with Windows 98 all the way through Windows 7. But those were annual or longer between major updates and we had time to install them when we were confident of their stability. Not so with Windows 10 which cranks out six month intervals automatically to many systems and users have little recourse if they go badly for their systems. 

    This sort of automatic update OS works much better in a smaller ecosystem of hardware like Chromebooks. That way its much easier to provide a stable update without chance for errors. Apple has this luxury too with predictable hardware to test on. Windows however has so many potential hardware configurations its clearly not ever going to provide a stable base for a auto update OS. This is why enterprise can indeed delay or stop updates it deems a problem. We as users should all have this capability. Even those using Linux have a LTS path that provides security updates only for a more stable platform for those who don't want or need bleeding edge apps or features. Something Microsoft should at least consider for all Windows users.
