Recently I have built a 3D rendering station for a client of mine. The machine runs, but crashes about once or twice a day with a BSOD (watchdog violation 1x133. Blue Screen View mentions either nvlddmkm.sys or ntoskrnl.exe as culprit. I've been having this same issue with BSOD watchdog erorr on a x99 ws-e and two GTX 1080s. I'm currently running Windows 1709 with Nvidia driver 397.93. My BIOS is 3201, 6/17/216. I see there is an updated BIOS date 5/2/2018. @mrpinoux we have similar systems, but I'm connected DP + DVI on just one card. So the issue still persists with my set up. Sounds like it's worth trying to update the BIOS?

On my end, I also figured out that the 2nd card from the top was giving me no errors while the top card was causing BOSD, try that.

I too am experiencing the watchdog violation crashes. My setup is an ASUS x299 WS Sage motherboard with 2 x 1080ti and an intel 10gb card. The crash happens with 2 gpus installed only when the intel 10g card is installed. When I remove the 10gb card it stops crashing. This is interesting... I also have a 10gb intel NIC installed in my machine. I have not tried removing it though to stop the crashes. On ASUS's site there is a firmware update that states "Enhanced the compatibility with some Intel LAN cards."

Did you disable your 2nd card? What BIOS version are you running? I'm trying my machine with disabling one of the GPUs for now and see how that performs. So far no BSOD yet..... I'll keep reporting back. I have a few x99 systems to troubleshoot.
