Windows 10 updates keep turning off system restore thus deleting previous restore points!

What seems to be the error message when you're trying to install the update? Would you be willing to upgrade to 1803?

THANKS AGAIN for that link as I had lost it earlier due to a host of issues with THIS PC....it is my companion PC, an ACER which is not updating well at all.    None of my PC's are that old and all of them, save my newest one, were previus Windows 7 PC's which I am now beginning to think are the issues that keep cropping up with Updates.

I do wisht that MS had decided to NOT load down older W7 PC's with all of these newer apps which may be the issue???   I am not sure, but I surely know that there is a correlation to the number of update issues seen with three of my Four PC's running my accounting programs and so on.   I am running a fairly sophisticated Network here and that is fine now.

But, this very last PC is just nagging me to an endless feeling of frustration.   It is now stuck on "detecting problems."   Let's see what happens next???  I just hope that this troubleshooter does not delete files or corrupt my network, which has happened six times, with my Mouse Sharing program.   SHEESH!

I have been an IT professional since the days of Windows 3.1 and if I had a dollar for every hour of my time that has been wasted by intractable and unsolvable Microsoft glitches I would be rich today. 

Yes, it is quite unreal what I am going through here to get what should be a simple update to finish!

I am **HOPING** that Microsoft is listening?    My Brother-in-Law told me yesterday that Microsoft **SEEMS** to be making users report glitches and then they PATCH updates to make them work.   Sounds possible.

Is there a way to ROLL BACK hung-up updates and then perform a clean update?

This is truly amazing to me.   Updates should not be this difficult.   I have FOUR WINDOWS PC's and the only one that updated perfectly was my newest, bought with Windows 10.

It appears to me, and tell me if I am wrong, that Windows 7 updated to Windows 10 is a problem for Microsoft?

Let me know if there is something that I am missing.  I am on my 60th hour of attempting this update, as I am keeping track of the number of hours I am spending on this ONE PC.   What I mean here is how many hours it has SAT doing nothing.
