I have a number of clients reporting the same on Windows 10 machines.  Some not all, report that once they log on, no desktop appears.  I have removed the Display Adapter driver on each as it has begun to happen, but many are reporting the issue returns.

    Event log provides no indication.

Approx 120 desktops at last count are affected.  Is anyone at MS really looking into this.  The "workaround is not a solution" (quoted from Microsoft's own KB articles on other issue) is relevant here

Exactly. Another microsoft idiot who doesn't read the problem. Click here, do this yadda yadda yadda. Problem is, did they ACTUALLY read the problem that you have a black screen and CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!?!?!?! Microsoft tech support idiots are the worst. Clueless, totally clueless.

God, do you even read what the problem is? Please explain how anyone is supposed to type winver in Cortana's search field? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT HE'S STUCK WITH A BLACK SCREEN AND CURSER?!?!

The answers I read on some of the Microsoft tech forums are just idiotic! It's getting to the point that you can almost count on NOBODY on an MS tech site to have a useful answer. I have a pc with a black screen and curser after bootup, and this is about the 5th computer in a month! Microsoft's answer when I call the tech support line? It's a glitch, and our 2nd level support team will call you in a couple days to help you reinstall your operating system!

     Useless . . .
