Windows Live Mail Import Problem after Clean Install

please bare with me!

1. Laptop or Desktop  Desktop
2. Age of computer  7 years +  how can I check on this?
3. make/model  built in a computer shop/store
4. Operating system installed (e.g. Windows 7)  Windows 7
5. 32 or 64 bit? (Right-click on Computer, choose Properties)  64 bit
6. Capacity of disk drive, how much is in use?  Pie chart shown in Computercapacity 465gb, 93.3gb in use
7. Model number of hard drive (click Disk in Device Manager) 
8. How much memory is installed? (Right-click on Computer, choose Properties) 
9. Please list ALL installed programs..... 
10. Security software installed?  Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Firewall with Advanced Security

do you have any ideas what is going on with the Windows Live Mail and why it is not working, like I have said I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it several time.    Thanks!    CarrmasDad2

Like I posted before

After I did the clean install etc. and got the windows live mail ready to import my email messages from my zip stick or whatever it is called.  I used the same link that you supplied from a previous thread.   I messed up and received email from my ISP.  Can I import my old emails now, or should I remove the emails from the ISP?   I do not want to mess anything up.

I want my OLD emails but I also want the new emails, can I do it?    Is there another free email program that MS offers?  If so will I be able to import my WLM emails to it?

My computer has Windows 7, I did a clean install, Not a clean repair.

I am getting confused.  I suggest you start again with a complete description of your system, all the problems you have experienced, what you have done (exactly) and what the results were (exactly).  I know this is a long and involved task, but I cannot help you until I can get a complete picture.

Windows Live Mail is no longer supported by Microsoft.  Not such a bad thing because that also means they are less likely to mess it up.  For your own security, you should download a copy of the program and store it in your backup drive in case you need to re-install for some reason: http://web.archive.org/web/20170112124505/http://wl.dlservice.microsoft.com/download/C/1/B/C1BA42D6-6A50-4A4A-90E5-FA9347E9360C/en/wlsetup-all.exe

I have removed and reinstalled the program several times using the link you sent me.

Please tell me what email program you use and give me advice on a email program that you have knowledge about!
