Emoji panel doesn't open in Fall Creators Update

Microsoft, this is a pain for your non-US keyboard using customers. Please can you fix this feature to work on any language keyboard? As an English (United Kingdom) customer, having to switch to an English (US) keyboard first, then click WIN + . is frustrating.

One tip for others in the same boat; you can quickly switch between keyboards with WIN + SPACE so getting the emoji panel from your native-language keyboard becomes

WIN + SPACE (switch to US keyboard)

WIN + . (open emoji panel)

WIN + SPACE (switch back to native keyboard)

but it's quite frustrating...so why MS doesn't simply allow WIN + . to work universally or if troubles to use another combination...

I am in Calgary (Canada) and, certainly, agree w/ y'all.

If it is any consolation at all for many countries this will not, any longer, be the case come Spring of 2018.

Already, in the Insider Builds, it works w/out being set to English (US).  Suggest you will see this change (improvement) in the major Spring update on mainstream installations.  Ergo, not a very long wait to endure, now.

Case in point, I am running my 1709 w/ English (US) whilst, my IB is English (Canada) and Emoji Panel works in both.

We did know @ the onset that it would be, initially, English (US) only & broaden sometime thereafter.

I realise in the grand scheme of things it's trivial but when a feature that could be so good just misses the mark because of a silly issue it's really frustrating.

I have a similar issue (trivial but annoying) on my Samsung Galaxy S8+ where the default Samsung keyboard has no ellipsis character (…) which I use quite a lot, less so now that Twitter has increase the length of Tweets :D

Yes I can download and switch to a third-party keyboard and back again (as I do) but such a simple thing to fix you'd think would eliminate the need for that.

Things are often done like that, where they are not 'global' at first.

Besides having this, there are a few rather cool, maybe even exciting things coming in the Spring Update; one can look forward to heaps of nice stuff.

It has an ellipsis.
