Emoji panel doesn't open in Fall Creators Update

Thanks for clarifying, Drew. And I do see that it will also work on my Edge browser pages or pretty much anywhere. That notwithstanding, your wording was fine and if it weren't for your post, I probably would have given up on tryin to make it work. I went back and re-read the Microsoft write-up on it....it needs work. I stand by my comment that it is poorly worded and needs work. They could take your two posts on the topic, combine and tweak them and the result would be significantly better than what they have put out there. BTW...I did see the notation that it only worked with US English keyboards and skimmed the posts about that but none of that applies...I live in Florida and only use an English keyboard Lenovo.

Allow me to clarify a point here for you.  And I don't know if it's Microsoft's wording or mine that is or was 'poor'.

In actual fact, use of the Emojie panel is not limited to Office components not, at all!  Mentioned as examples.

Can access & use it damn near anywhere.  As long as the keyboard is English (US) it'll work all over the place... even (non-Microsoft) forums or whatever, wherever; hell, even with Notepad.

Try it, anywhere, in the PC, on line, still, works.

Take it from the horses mouth, so to speak... I use it lots, anywhere, everywhere 👍👌������

Very helpful. Until I read this, I had no idea that this must be done from Outlook, Word, etc., because the way that Microsoft introduced this feature in the Fall Creators update "What's New" is very poorly written. They need to re-write it and explain in plain English that you do this when in Outlook, Word, etc., and whatever others apps it works with.

It was in this same thread, albeit, after the entry to which, you had replied.  But, no worries, as all clarified, now 👍😊 and all 👌

In other words: Keyboard must be English (US)... location, Country or Region does not matter, that can be anywhere; it is just the K/B that must be set to English (US).
