Emoji panel doesn't open in Fall Creators Update

I just downloaded this update. Nowhere did it say "Mr. Imagonna Crash, this wont work for you." I have MS Word open. It just does not happen. I don't understand why Microsoft does this. How difficult can it be to test a simple function like this. If they don't want me to use it, don't send me a message saying, "There is an update from MS ... etc." Soooo frustrating.

Certainly, it's inconvenient, for now.  It will be available for other languages in the future.  This item is not the 1st time a new thing is available initially only in the US or in English (US). Do a agree, it can be a pain.

If one is curious about something in the OS, can look within the OS itself for the explanation.  It's not necessary to search the web.  Always try using Tips first. Tips does a great job of telling a person what all the OS can do & how to do things in it; includes a "What's New" section.  It is a default App.

Want to search for something, search for Tips 😊 👍

There is, also, Get Help (app) that offers you a virtual agent who will answer or explain.

Oh & by the way & as a matter of fact... when the Fall Creators Update was first installed, the first time the browser was opened there was a big spread across the top, "Welcome to the Fall Creators Update" and below that 3 sections of info including "What's New".  The new Emoji Panel being one of the many items covered therein.

Hi..it works for now after having switched from Italian keyboard to English US.

Those are things I hate of Microsoft....why this interesting feature doesn't work no matter what Keyb is setup and again...why Microsoft is NOT advertising this feature !

Once you update to this version...you boot up and...nothing happens...what Apple (that I hate by principle) would have done ?..well...a big pop up after log-in detailing the new features the updates in bringing to you and...a video as well...yes yes that video exists..I found it..but but...images that show that feature as well but no clue how to get there ! So you must google, search for it, investigate, trying to sort it out, get to this forum, read and read and then test yourselft....

PUFF !

Just an outburst..and rethorical questions of course, not that you have the answer :-)

no..opps..let me use the new feature...(one sec..need to switch keyboard to US)..😊 done...ok now let me switch back to ITA otherwise I can't continue my work....

Not sure to whom you are replying.

The only thing necessary to do to have the new emoji panel work is set ones keyboard to English (US)

Settings > Time & Language > Region & Language

Under Country or Region, in the box, put where you live or whatever Country one want.

Under Languages, you want English (United States)

                                              Windows display language

That's it, that's all.  Do the above & the new Emjoi panel will work for you, too 😁 Ta da and voila.

I don´t know if it will help you, but i'm from Argentina and i had to add the keyboard to my taskbar in settings, customization, taskbar and where it says Notification Area, Activate or desactivate system icons.

I hope this helps you and i hope you can understand my bad English 😂
