2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4088776) - Error 0x80070002
I have been struggling with this issue for well over a month, It first started with the "2018-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4090913)". Now its update Tuesday and this months cumulative update (KB4088776) is doing the exact same thing.
I have tried all 5 of the steps provided by microsofts here: (More than once)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/910336/windows-update-error-0x80070002-or-0x80070003
Finally, I have done a clean install of windows 10 three times now in the past couple of weeks, to no prevail.
After each fresh install. the exact same issue.
I am running Windows 10 Pro Education, Version 1709, build 16299.15.
After each install it seems to update no problem, but seems to only be an issue once I reactivate my Windows 10 Pro Activation key.
I gave up weeks ago, and was hoping my problem would simply be solved by the latest update, but that is not the case.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2018-03-18T05:41:09+00:00 Microsoft.....PLEASE STOP sending me notifications about the 2018-03 Cumulative update. PLEASE STOP restarting my computer with the result of a failed install. This is getting old. Either fix the bugs in the updates or give me a simple resolution without having me do a recovery to factory settings.

2018-03-18T17:58:53+00:00 I am having the same problem. My operating system specifications are:
Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 1709
OS Build: 16299.248
My machine is ASUS 6GB
I had 18 failures after trying to install Kb4088776. Microsoft recommended uninstalling Kb4056892 but this correction was not on my machine.
My machine became very slow and I was unable to open any Microsoft products. I corrected it by running:
Malwarebytes premium and then CHKDSK C: /R /F /V
I have turned off any further update of kb4088776 by turning on "Pause" for update. This should prevent any further attempts for downloading and intalling KB4088776 for the next 35 days.
My machine is running fine again.
