Im quite sure there is a buck being passed here, The real situation is this, The Windows 10 application is having a very bad issue with Windows Defender and the Cloud, and to make matters worse it seems that someone came up with a new security intelligence add on for the Defender program thats taking it upon itself to delete and or refuse downloads even if they were reinstalls of the same application that youve had for years BUT now all of a sudden it could be considered a threat to your system.(Thats a total crock of rubbish)

whats really happening is somehow somewhere along the lines of a 15 to 30 hour or more of waiting for the Windows 10 2004 update things arent going as planned, i can say no one at Microsoft ever put the full Beta program thru testing to eliminate these glitches.

Ill give you a very good example. I was on the phone with support they called me at 10:30 PM est , we went over the issues prior and there were no results, so they wanted to really find out what was going on. I have a 2006 2007 HP6000, I had upgraded it to Windows 10 which they said they thought was impossible, i did this thru the download assistant and took all of my FSX files and application over to the new Win 10 and everything was perfect, never had any issues other than the very long line of updates.

When all of that was done and after about two weeks of the update locking the screen at 2 minutes for completion it would stop, so they told me to use the dvd usb and to make a beckup of the applications, so i did, when it was all finished my Windows 10 was gone and my entire FSX Gold application with everything from 2007 to the present, all of my backups were gone, so they told me to use the backup and it would reinstall the windows 10 and my files, and heres what happened, it went in and wiped my entire drive, took out my partition and i ended up with nothing at all, so i attempted to use the usb and i found out exactly what happened, it set up the computer to run from the usb as the drive and thats exactly where the program was that wiped the hard drive, and all i could do was use my Win 7 cd to reinstall Win 7 all over.

Whats odd about this is the computer wont identify the Backup, nor will it let me download anything without the false alarms, and admin priv, which i am and no one else uses the computer.

Bottom line is, ive turned off all auto updates and ive went thru the hard drive it was wiped, none of my keys work for the win 10 it wont let me upgrade, so im stuck with a program Win 7 and thats ok because i personally think the Win XP and & were the best product applications ever made. Things went awry with Vista onwards. Im not the only user that had this occur, and as with the update last fall alot of users worldwide lost alot of files over the same issues. Windows Defender never stopped any attacks of malware or spyware that ive ever observed and if it was so very good why is everyone buying security for the system when it already has it.? What they need to do is put BILL GATES back in the office, because if things keep going on like this unchecked the Windows program will be a thing of the past.

I reported the same thing 2 years ago-- But do not expect any response from MS-- All you will get are series of complaints by other users about the same disaster! Anyhow, first check a file called Windows.OLd or something like that; if no use, take your computer to a professional repair shop.  Cross your fingers! Usually, there is no hope of retrieving the lost applications, photos, etc. but let's hope!

It is as if a Microsoft programmer has intentionally created an internal virus (I call it MS disease) within the  major automatic updates! And now the company and its software is too large to be able to find the cause of this super-bug!

In any case, after all these useless rants: if you have Windows 10 professional, postpone the updates for year. But do not stop there: check my previous messages as how you can block MS automatic updates for good, despite everything! That is what I did.

Finally, let your family members and friends know about it, before the disaster strikes. Unfortunately, it is like COVID-19: people are in total denial until it happens. Take care.

My issue is simple. An unaccepted update, over which I had absolutely no control has wiped out my personal system profile. (Sorry about the quality of the photo but it shows this only fleetingly and is hard to capture). I can't even access windows explorer to see if anything is left on my hard drive. As far as I know everything has gone. Who gave Microsoft the right to put this (malware) on my PC? All my family photographs gone, my online training gone (test next Monday should be interesting). Everything.
