Automated Windows 10 updates deleted all my documents and files

I am in a state of shock. I was already using windows 10 and last night automated updates started without allowing me to stop them. This morning my computer is cleaned out with all thosevery important document deleted!!! Microsoft can do that??? How can I recover them ALL?????

    Same problem here,

    lost all my user files, I rolled back but nothing.... all is missing, big damage for me.

    As I have posted a few times now. Even tho Microsoft says they can do it via remote it is impossible to. The hard drive needs to be removed from the computer and slaved to another computer and then have the files copied off. This is the ONLY way to recover the files. I have worked on this issue so much in the last month that I have found this is the only way to do it..

    This complete wipe of personal data, pics, documents, letters, etc is what im going through. Microsoft techs assured me remotely that data recovery was no problem. Wrong! Microsoft store now says no data to recover. This wipe of data was done remotely and unrequested, with a back up date in place. 

         If someone came into my home stole my photos, legal documents, letters, etc . I would call the police.

    I believe a major issue is being totally ignored. Every time something goes wrong with an update (or with Windows 10 for that matter) the solution appears to be using a third party tool to recover the data, reinstalling Windows, of resetting Windows. As someone with 35+ years in the industry, my first thought is: Microsoft needs to own the problem and institute relevant changes e.g. broader testing, better testing, determining how these errors get through testing, etc.
