Automated Windows 10 updates deleted all my documents and files

I just got home from work thinking i'm going to watch a movie, but hey noo, 'cause Windows update wiped my laptop off all the programs and everything i had in it. How on earth this is supposed to be a normal thing? At least give the opportunity to the user to chose if he wants or not to update. I had updates deactivated and even that way i got this **** update! Thank you so much Microsft, you just made my evening better( ironic mode off). Wonder if it's possible to sue them, or something, they deserve it!!

I just had your garbage operating system 'update' automatically and it wiped my machine, 150 GBs of music and other files and now you tell me that I'm supposed to have backed up!?

And this is because I didn't continue with a sign in on a temporary profile?!?!

Na-ah! NOT on me you Microsoft morons.

I was supposed to have known this?!?! I was literally on the phone to my buddy who I used to work for 25 years ago in the IT industry telling him about this, except that I had discovered my files on the "old.windows' folder, so no problem, (but had clicked out of the sign-in crap, because I didn't have any stinking microsoft sign in account, figuring I'll move everything back after the phone call.) Went down stairs to speak to him on the phone, hung up, came back up and checked my machine and your crap OS wiped my disk!?!?

This is beyond reproach. Millions of poeple--else why am I the only one that this happened to, and why--must have had this happen. Except it didn't upgrade my other laptop. Why?!?

And you people just get away with this? "Restore from a backup."? I've run MACS for decades and NEVER EVER EVA EVERERER seen this happen.

Why would you write a software upgrade that had any possibility of doing this whatso-@#$%ing ever?

YOU ought to be sued so far back into the technological stone-age, you'd think smoke signals were state-of-the-art communication.

I"m done with you ****^&*(S. DONE I'm gonna move to Linux. @#$% That! I'm gonna spend the money on a mac.

Microsoft installed update 1803 on my laptop Wednesday 5/18/19 and it wiped out my entire hard drive, including my external hard drive where my system backups were stored. Email: gone,  Documents: gone,  Programs: gone.  Backups: gone.  System: gone.                                                                                              Not only that, I was caught in a startup/shutdown loop and couldn't get in to reinstall Windows 10. Laptop would not recognize boot repair disk or Windows 10 original installation USB flash drive.                                                                                                                            I was finally able to find an old backup from 2018 and miraculously installed that but everything 2019 was lost.                                                                                                                      :( Thanks Microsoft

Also with my professionally rebuilt machine that was rendered a dark hulk by last years update, Microsoft forced an update as soon as it was live, changed all my defaults and  stripped Firefox as my default browser replacing with Edge, followed by every trick it could to reverse the default browser to Edge on every boot up. This is not client focused behavior and only serves to alienate Microsoft from their user further and prove THAT THEY JUST DON'T CARE.

You have to say sorry and make things right in business and in your personal life, in my experience people who are deeply insecure can find it challenging to apologize, Microsoft must be very insecure or have the worlds biggest Ego.

Bevjeskie were you able to recover any of your documents?   These forced updates and shutdowns are a pain in the ****.   Is there any way to stop Windows from forcibly updating my PC?
