Automated Windows 10 updates deleted all my documents and files

I am in a state of shock. I was already using windows 10 and last night automated updates started without allowing me to stop them. This morning my computer is cleaned out with all thosevery important document deleted!!! Microsoft can do that??? How can I recover them ALL?????

    It is now two plus years after the original post...and windows is still not able to address this issue. It continues to happen - time after time.  I want my files so I can move them to Apple like all my other devices. 

    My Computer updated...and now ALLLLLLL my files are gone.  Office files, graphics files, font files - you name it - they are gone.  Is Microsoft going to reimburse me for those files???? 

    There is only one user on this computer and I am signed in as that user and not a temporary user. There is nothing to sync. 

    I have searched for hidden files. There are none. 

    You decide I must accept updates and then my files are gone.  I need these files. You are messing with my livelihood and schoolwork.  I want a solution and I want it NOW.

    Totally agreed that Microsoft's  had forgotten customer and product satisfaction a d o had no intentions to write again  my Greek tragedy but it has to know a d i do need replacements t equipment  and least a letter of compensating all customers trouble with kindness and the ability to re pay them

    I have had the exact same issue which has taken me days to just get here; an Auto update, which I was unable to stop and then I lost all my Office 365 suite plus ALL my important business files, artwork, photos and pretty much everything that hadn't been auto save back to Sptemebr 2019.

    I am devastated; I can't find valuable contacts, I am not getting emails to Outlook, basically life as I knew a few days ago at the beginning of July is completely changed. It's like I have been destroyed by Covid. It is unacceptable l that we pay for these products only to find we are subject to this type of treatment.

    I seek compensation and expect a full restore of my system

    Please respond to me immediately so that I can carry on my business; it is tough enough at this time of Covid without this srot of irrepesbcble corporate behaviour going on

    Im facing alot of problems with this company. I think people do not fix these types of problems.

    Ive faced this update and had to make a new one. I even face a lot of glitches leaving my computer to be thrown in trash.

    All i know is Microsoft isnt for students who attend online. It is there for dieing with stress. Im upgrading my mac l. I do not care if  its expensive. The quality is at the price of an item. Mac is expensive as it is rich in quality
