Automated Windows 10 updates deleted all my documents and files

I am in a state of shock. I was already using windows 10 and last night automated updates started without allowing me to stop them. This morning my computer is cleaned out with all thosevery important document deleted!!! Microsoft can do that??? How can I recover them ALL?????

    Have you tried running a recovery software like GetDataBack Simple? They let you run the software to see if it can find your stuff, then you pay I think $80 for a license to actually recover it. Well worth it if it can find your files. There are other recovery solutions but that one in my experience has been the best.

    I know you don't want to hear this but after almost 20 years in the PC support business I tell all of my client. BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!. There are multiple ways to do this now a days. from external drive to online cloud backup. And some of it free up to a certain amount of data. I have seen families go thru the same thing from a hard drive crash and loose eveything. There is nothing you can do about that now. but going forward you need to backup everything..

    How about a level 2 tech erasing the complete history from not just you but your entire family including your 30yr Marriage and 2 grown young men with a grandaughter from each and they are now II and 5 and I have o to show. Not to mention the 30 yr legacy complete Home Movie & M.Maker VHS-DVD original burners with man Im still smh in disbelief and emailing and still not sleeping Im as good as dead and no one has help unles you call ms putting nothing but a empty hard drive after 4 mo me calling, emailing, text anything that l could or that would keep me breathing. I got to go . b4 I loose t agan Mine started on 3-29-19Tech took my life and PC6-21-2019

    You should only worry about the major update which acts as a virus (not a simple bug) deleting your files and applications. I have already put a link and explanation as how to BLOCK the automated update. First you have to have a professional edition of Windows.     My computer is doing this also and I dont know how to stop it. I have been searching online with no luck. I wish someone had answers
