Since a Windows 10 update a few weeks ago, when I go to shut down, it says it is closing and there is an app running ------- but there is no app running So I wait for it to close that nonexistent app, and after a few minutes, I am back to the computer being ready to work, not shutting down. When will a new update fix this? Yesterday's update did not fix this. It is not a serious problem, but it is annoying to have to click "Shut down anyway" to really shut down. What is this app that hides itself and won't quit?

2018-12-18T17:04:39+00:00 I have been totally frustrated by the same problem for some time. I conducted all the suggestions to no avail. There is clearly an application running that one cannot see or know what it's doing. This is not just an annoyance! This is a security issue!

2019-01-22T03:57:46+00:00 I have been having the same issue for quite some time. It is only happening on my desktop not my laptop. I am running Windows 10 Home Version 1803 OS Build 17134.523 on both. I am to the point that I want re-format my drive and start fresh.
