Mystery app preventing Windows 10 shutdown after update.

Since a Windows 10 update a few weeks ago, when I go to shut down, it says it is closing and there is an app running  ------- but there is no app running   So I wait for it to close that nonexistent app, and after a few minutes, I am back to the computer being ready to work, not shutting down. When will a new update fix this?  Yesterday's update did not fix this. It is not a serious problem, but it is annoying to have to click "Shut down anyway" to really shut down.  What is this app that hides itself and won't quit?

I'm an IT tech for a small computershop and i've noticed this problem on nearly every windows 10 PC on which the user is running Voip Connect. As does AlanD1948.

I've searched and spend a lot of time trying to find a work around without having to tell my client to simply force shutdown or right click the voip connect tray icon to close the application before shutdown and came to this thread so i thought i'd mention it.

I can't determine if the cause is a windows 10 version or a Voip Connect build because i simply dont have the time to try it out. But maybe it helps someone here or from MS even to find a solution.

    Kind Regards

I have been having the same problem and by following this information I found out it was my Cyberlink Media Expresso 7.5. This is a program I very rarely use so I removed it and the problem is gone. See image below.
