Windows update messed up my computer

Good grief, my machines is also screwed, yet again.  Fricken updates.  This time though, the update keeps failing, so when the machine reboots, it tells me it failed, but has to try again.  Again, scheduled reboot, and of course fails.  So now my computer is stuck in this terrible loop yet again.  These updates are screwing up my machine something serious.  I've had to rebuild more than once because of these updates.  And I've tried time and again, to shut them off.

The last update hell microsoft put me thru, terrible killed the performance of my machine.  I beat the keyboard to death trying to fix that, and finally gave up in frustration.  Rebuild.  This time, shutting off updates as best I could.

Now, about 6 months later, this update loop hell.  Trouble is, it will NOT describe what exactly failed, and how to fix.  (Even though I thought I had shut off updates).  So, is another rebuild in my future ???

If so, I really really need to know HOW to shut off updates all together.   I've even gone to the trouble of denying |Microsoft updates thru the firewall.  See what microsoft makes you do ???

So if you can answer this question, please do, otherwise I'm seriously considering other OS solutions.

For a while I couldn't do anything on my computer after an update. Then the last update came as I was getting ready to reinstall windows. I thought I should give it a try before reinstall and my computer is back without any trouble. 

There's no way you can stop all updates from MS. The ones that they think it is very important to make you computer run smooth and safe, they will install. Anowing. I hope that, after we all complain together, MS will give us the option of no update at all.

I can't do anything with the computer, so your suggestion won't work for me. I get a screen with only a mail, power indicator and wifi icons. Also Skype shows on the top of screen. Any key pressed or mouse pressed causes screen to go blank. After a bit screen comes back same as before. What has Misoft screwed up this time??

Microsoft Update/8GB RAM Problem (perhaps)

I too had this Microsoft problem this morning! My whole laptop process

freezes and I could not open Microsoft Edge Browser. I could not open

Task Manager and I could not factory reset my laptop. When I had shut

down my laptop and had got it booting, the screen went totally black,

until it had reached the lock screen, but I could not open the lock screen.

I was stuck with no way going forward, but to just shut down completely.

Could it be some issue with my 8GB RAM?

or

Could it be some issue with Updates that were installed?

If RAM is the #1 issue, then I need to upgrade to some

faster laptop once my mother comes back home.

If Updates is the #2 issue, then I shall wait patiently for the fixes

or travel to some technician shop to find one fix for my laptop.

If not any of those solutions, then my laptop is positively dying.

Unplugged my laptop, removed the Solid State, removed the RAM

and removed my Blu-Ray Drive, just in case that if there’s no solution,

I will have to upgrade to some faster laptop than the Toshiba Satellite

P755-S5198. This Issue had Occured on April 13, 2018 10:00AM.

The 4 items are stored within my box.
