Amazon Device randomly showing up on Network.

Original question:

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

    I woke up to same 'Austin' device.  I do have a fire stick and fire tablet in my house.  It disappeared when I refreshed my network items displayed....I'm on a Samsung Notebook 7

    Having the same problem and can not track down or block the MAC address.

    This device showed up on my network. The ONLY Amazon device I own is a TV which has Amazon software on it. Unplugged the TV, refreshed the Network devices screen on my Win10 PC and Austin KFAUWI was gone. 

    It is not an Amazon branded TV, just a smart TV loaded with Amazon's software. 

    Check all your digital devices... even if it is not an Amazon device, if it is running their software the device may show up as that.

    Hi, I just saw your post.  I had the same problem a few days ago.  I went round and round and found on this forum what i believe is the solution.   DoubleTT_845 posted the below on New Years Eve, 2017.  The link that he included has the solution to the problem (at least it worked for me).  I have reproduced his post immediately below.

    When I went out to the webpage I tried the first solution that he offered, which was to disable the "Windows Connect Now" service.  That immediately worked for me.  I hope this helps you.

    In US, most of the modems nowadays have WIFI (and routing) capability.  I actually have to call Comcast to disable the modem WIFI and use my own router for WIFI activities.  Some users may not use WIFI but should make sure if their internet providers' modems have WIFI enabled or not.  My problem solved by disabling windows connect now service is related to WPS protocol which is related to WIFI.  If one is sure they do not have WIFI, then it is something else then.
