Amazon Device randomly showing up on Network.

Original question:

I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

    This is due to other devices seeing your WiFi as an option to connect to it. As long as you have a good password, they cannot connect. It will ask for the password. If you right click the device name and choose properties this will show you details. If there is no IP address available then you are good. If there is an IP address associated with the device then the device successfully connected. It could be the kids next door on their tablet, for example.

    This does not necessarily mean you have been hacked. I have the exact same thing happening. It could mean someone with this Amazon device is close by and sees your WiFi signal. The point where you need to be worried is if it has an IP address showing up on your network. That means they have gotten connected to your network.

    1.  under Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS option, disable the WPS and save settings.

    1. ALSO in Wndows turn off features (if this is enabled)
    2. go to "Turn Windows features on or off "link.
    3. then find  the SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support option.
    4. Uncheck this
    5. Click the OK button.
    6. Click the Restart now button.

    UNABLE TO COMPLY.   WI-FI PROTECTED SETUP OF WPS ALREADY DISABLED.

    SMB 1.0/CIFS File sharrig options does not snow "Support" and there is NO checkbox.

    There is NO OK button.
