Original question:
I've got a random Amazon KFAUWI device showing up on my network as a device beside my driver for my router. Can anyone help? I am sure it is not a device in my house, as everything is set to something we've done or one of our names. Can anyone tell me if i'm stupid or if this is a general happening?

I tried a solution offered by
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/amazon-kfauwi-appeared-network-device
and it worked.
Briefly this is the procedure I used:
type in SERVICES.MSC in search then go to the right side and disable WINDOWS CONNECT NOW and that removed the annoying icon for me.
good luck
I also have the a ustin computer showing up in my network devices under the category Computer. On a hunch I turned off the newest device added to my network, which was an "Amazon Echo Connect". Once I tuned the Echo Connect off, austin went away, tuned it back on, austin retuned.
I do wonder, does anyone with the Amazon device popping up have an AMAZON Dash button(s)?
I have an Intel I7-6700K, I'm on DSL and have seen this popup just recently. I've blocked this MAC in my Router which is the only way any device would have access to my main PC. I also show a phone on my network from time to time that is Named acawhl_00651: HTC Bolt (2PYB2) just like this Amazon device.
I have an austin, too. Different mac address. Shows as a network device on my pc but not in the list of connected clients on the router.
On Windows 10 1709 16299.64. I'm sure its something to do with a recent cumulative update.
