Windows 10 1709 its been out almost a month now and still no fix for the freezing bug issue, lots of people are having the same issue as me and none of your suggestion work  unlike the 1703 which didn't freeze for me but sadly 1709 does but seems like Microsoft hasn't acknowledge the problem yet..   #Microsoft fix it

I installed a new graphics cards (after the upgrade, my monitors would not sense a boot and remained in the off position)... $200 and ran the upgrade "trouble shooter".  It seemed to have a hard time but did report a corrupt database and repaired it.  So far, so good... no freezes except one strange one that occurred with the USB port sound notice and then froze.  But it looks good at this point.  I have 4 other machines that upgraded just fine, so this is the oldest one.

Another freeze today. Again it is totally random. Still not official word from Microsoft? I think I will start documenting every instance of the freeze as it happens on this thread so that Microsoft can see the severity of this issue.

I think it has something to do with A, Bios drivers or B, Hardware drivers. Now, the problem I'm seeing is that there comes a point where a manufacture releases a driver that is compatible with windows 10. So they have no longer a need to update it because its for windows 10. But then here comes Microsoft, releasing updates that basically render those drivers faulty or incompatible.

I think when Microsoft said windows 10 was free to existing windows 7 & 8 users. I think they told us a big fat lie. I think now you're using windows 10, your unlikely to go back to windows of old. Entrapped with windows 10. Now Microsoft can do whatever they like, disable whatever devices & render hardware that was sold as windows 10 compatible, no longer compatible, despite it still being windows 10.

This is why we seriously need OS competition. Not just Microsoft & those more tech savvy Linux.

    1703 was fine, 1709 not.

So I exclude bios or hardware Drivers.

    The update is buggy.

Microsoft must finally fix the bug for all the AMD FX Users. That's all.
