Windows 10 1709 freeze randomly

I'm a software & hardware engineer by trade of rover 18 years. I've developed application for what was called ATI to name one of the higher profile customers. I have around 30 systems at my disposal for testing & so forth applications & hardware. After the 1709 update, all these systems started acting up in one form or another. The big one is what I experienced on my main personal system at home. Random system freezes. No crash dump files, nothing. 

I've come to the conclusion that Microsoft has given us this free upgrade to windows 10 for a purpose. Knowing we're more likely to keep with it because changing OS would mean a fresh start & for some of us, that's not an option at all. So, we're now stuck with an OS that Microsoft change & decide what we can & can't use. Example, Hardware sold as Windows 10 compatible, because it was windows 10 compatible. But for some reason, Microsoft decided to disable it for no reason. The drivers for such devices are removed from windows 10 & blocked from being reinstalled. However, I've found a work around for some drivers, mainly for hardware I use & have found no longer supported to work flawlessly by disable windows 10 driver signing & manually downloading them & installing. There's no reason for this hardware to be disabled other than Microsoft trying to force people into buying new. A prime example of this. Microsoft have an agreement with some manufacturers of hardware. If your hardware is not one of them, you will find at some point older hardware no longer being supported. These hardware manufacturers pay Microsoft to keep their hardware working by drivers. Logitech used to at first as it saw it as a good thing. But then pulled out after realising that Microsoft did nothing to update or improve the use of these devices, only keeping them supported by not disabling them. Since then, a number of Logitech devices have found themselves no longer working. But, some older devices that do continue to pay Microsoft do.

It's effectively a monopoly. Forcing companies to pay Microsoft to keep their devices usable on Windows 10. The EU & The UK are already looking into this practice. Some politicians have called it extortion on a global scale.

In place install. is when you download the ISO from Microsoft and install Windows 10 1709 right from the ISO this fixes corruption from the download.  They try to blame it on Anti-Virus  a load of crap.

doing it this way does not require any applications to be re-installed

this worked on One PC I did it on.

the solution that has worked everytime 3/3 times is doing a full refresh

settings recovery reset this PC.

this wipes all applications from the PC and gives  you a fresh install with Drivers  and your Data if you chose that option.

Something that I just did on a clients PC with and SSD is

powercfg /h off  from admin enabled command prompt.

there is really no reason to use Hybernation or sleep with faster ssd enabled PCs. 

this fixed the problem on a PC that I have been having problems with for weeks after 1709

also if you have 8GB and over turn off the Paging File  I did that as well

Most machines come with 8GB up to 64GB of Ram  Virtual Memory was designed for the days when memory was scarce and expensive

and needed the ability to swap memory from the HDD to RAM and Back  I disable it on all new machines as well as disabling enable caching under policies for my hard drive.

Microsoft Ultimately needs to fix this broken update. However if the solution I put in place works then at least peoples PCs will stop crashing.

the messed up part about this update its hit or miss weather you will have problems or not.

Some Machines I have installed it on have had no problems what so ever.

no so lucky with others.

Could you please explain how you did such a 'reset of the OS'?

And what's the difference with an 'in place install'?

I've done everything bar resetting my PC which isn't something I want to do right now, obviously however I'm no longer running the latest version of Windows because it keeps crashing my system...
