Windows 10 1709 freeze randomly

I would like to give a general update to my freezing.

The continuous freezing ended up making my Motherboard go bad and now I don't have a computer to use. It is unbelievable that Microsoft won't acknowledge this issue. Creator's Update has now proven itself to be extremely dangerous to some custom built PCs. I now have to buy a brand new motherboard and processor because my system is destroyed. All the Microsoft Support agents mentioned was that it was my old system that was causing the freezes and not their update. I had no freeze prior to the Creator's Update. And now Microsoft won't own up to the fact that their update destroyed my PC and have cost me time and money.

Just unbelievable that a OS developer has failed a customer that has been with them since the Win95 era. I doubt I will get compensated for my loss and am considering legal action at this point.

I have been experiencing the same problem on a clean install of Win 10 Home, which of course updates to version 1709.  Everything was fine until I started installing programs and in my particular circumstance I have found the culprit that is causing my PC to freeze, and it is ‘Acronis True Image 2010’. I understand that this version is not supposed to be compatible with Win 10 and that’s fair enough, but what confused me was it has operated without any problems on the previous Win10 Version 1703.  I uninstalled Acronis and also did a System Restore to just prior to the install of Acronis and all has been well since.  I very much doubt my solution to curing the ‘freeze’ problem will apply to many, but posting this just in case anyone reading this has got Acronis True Image 2010 installed on their PC.

Just as an update, I've reverted my PC to pre-Creator's Update, and have forcibly disabled all updating procedures.  This has reduced the number of freezes I experience in any give six hour period from 3-6 to occasionally 1.  

I really don't think its okay that I have to manually disable updating because the newest one(s) effectively made my PC unusable.

I just want to throw my name in as also having this problem.  And just to be clear, here are the symptoms:

1. After a random amount of time, the entire system will hang-- internet pages won't load, UI will get stuck, games will lock up.
2. A couple seconds later everything will stop responding.  The only thing that still works is moving the mouse (but not clicking).
3. The only solution is a hard restart.

I've tried changing the power settings, running the disk, memory, and system file checkers, I've adjusted memory usage, updated all available drivers... none of it has worked.

Microsoft needs to fix this this.

Thanks Jason, I will give it a try. I noticed that all my HV services were on manual or disabled so I put them all on auto. Didn't seem to do anything. Are you also having random font shrinkage's where you hafta hit the % in the address bar (or view zoom resest)to get it back to normal? Also random delays in logging/booting on initially & shutting down. Now even if it logs me on fast I can't access the taskbar unless I do the ctrl+alt+del to get the blue security screen & click on task mgr. PITA my man. PITA. Casey
