Windows 10 1709 its been out almost a month now and still no fix for the freezing bug issue, lots of people are having the same issue as me and none of your suggestion work unlike the 1703 which didn't freeze for me but sadly 1709 does but seems like Microsoft hasn't acknowledge the problem yet.. #Microsoft fix it

I wish I could say I was surprised when an earlier update bricked my PC. I think 1709 is simply a massive lemon. I said on another thread to a Microsoft rep that I bet I could walk into a computer store, check out a brand-new computer, and it would be crashing. I did that today—and I believe I have won that bet. Two brand-new Dells on factory settings, selected at random from a local store:

Asus claims its not supported for Windows 10, but it worked fine until this recent update. I have just tried updating the BIOS, and will report back on if that does anything.
And... it didn't help. May have made things worse, in that one freeze completely screwed up the boot procedure. I had to go in and pull the BIOS battery to get it to reset, and then it booted again.

I have been told by MS help that my ASUS motherboard is not compatible with creator upgrade. My desktop freezes after 5-10mins. So I rollback each time.
If you go into Windows Update settings, advanced options, you can delay the features updates which 1709 is, for 365 days...
BTW I am using an ASUS M5A99FX Pro 2.0 motherboard. That wouldn't be the same as you would it?
Interesting, I’m on an ASUS P8H67-M LE (LGA1155).
Lealr, I am on your side on this. While the spring Creators update worked for me, the fall one really interrupted things, and my system began crashing three to six times daily. As always, the Microsoft techs got to a point where they suggested the “nuclear option” of reinstalling the earlier OS. I always viewed these suggestions with grave suspicion because, like you, I know that it is their software that is causing the problem, and not my computer.
I am sure that a computer that resets itself up to six times a day could get damaged, and with Anniversary, one of the ten update loops actually bricked my PC, necessitating repairs that cost me money.
February 2 came round and I got the cumulative update. And the BSODs stopped happening. Evidently Microsoft realized what was happening, and while it took two months for them to get their act together, they did, and the age of my PC (2012) had nothing to do with it. My opinion is that you should proceed with your action, especially if you have been in touch with their support people.
