Windows 10 1709 its been out almost a month now and still no fix for the freezing bug issue, lots of people are having the same issue as me and none of your suggestion work  unlike the 1703 which didn't freeze for me but sadly 1709 does but seems like Microsoft hasn't acknowledge the problem yet..   #Microsoft fix it

I just want to throw my name in as also having this problem.  And just to be clear, here are the symptoms:

    1. After a random amount of time, the entire system will hang-- internet pages won't load, UI will get stuck, games will lock up.
    2. A couple seconds later everything will stop responding.  The only thing that still works is moving the mouse (but not clicking).
    3. The only solution is a hard restart.

I've tried changing the power settings, running the disk, memory, and system file checkers, I've adjusted memory usage, updated all available drivers... none of it has worked.

Microsoft needs to fix this this.

Thanks Jason, I will give it a try. I noticed that all my HV services were on manual or disabled so I put them all on auto. Didn't seem to do anything. Are you also having random font shrinkage's where you hafta hit the % in the address bar (or view zoom resest)to get it back to normal? Also random delays in logging/booting on initially & shutting down. Now even if it logs me on fast I can't access the taskbar unless I do the ctrl+alt+del to get the blue security screen & click on task mgr. PITA my man. PITA. Casey

Hey mister. You were right I should be more specific. You'll see an option called Virtualization in BIOS ,check it out. Hyper-V in task manager literally refers to that one I mentioned earlier. I wonder you could actually reach the security screen during the freeze....I couldn't do that earlier though. If it still persists you have to wait for MS to give yo patch because I've tried all other options to rectify this. One thing that might definitely solve this is......resetting your system with backup option. Hope none wants to do that stuff!

Hi. I started the thread but am no further than when I started. Could you be a little more specific about the Hyper-V for multithreading? I've gone into BIOS & could not locate anything like it. However in Comp Mgmnt services there are a slew of HV items non of whic resemble yours. Does any of these refer to what you were talking about. I have to constantly ctrl+alt+del to get the blue security screen & dbl click Task Mgr (even if it is already on my desktop-frozen) to unfreeze everything & also stop the random shrinking of the screen & fonts in which I hafta do several diff steps to set the view right. Sometimes diff ones at diff times. This really sucks. MY HP Laptop Pavilion i7core 5th gen was working perfectly until 1709 Creator update. Also scrolling goes rogue & locks. I cant believe MS is ignoring this. JP Casey

Go to settings/apps/programs and features(on the right side of the window)/Turn Windows Features on or off(on the left side of the screen)/Hyper-V. For me, Hyper-V was selected(turned off), I selected it to turn it off, and that seems to have resolved my issue(s).
