How to fix Error Code 80248015 when trying to access windows updates

    Ha. I had the exact same reaction to those Windows Update errors as you and my MSE is now also borked (80242014). After reinstalling the MSE the first update went through without a problem and now I am getting error messages (80242014) - same as you.

    I don't think we did something "wrong". There is something wrong with die MS servers right now.

    I knew MS was going to end support for windows 7 at some point, but I can't believe they didn't even have the courtesy or moxie you let people know if that is indeed what is going on.  We're left here not knowing if it's a royal MS screw-up, or if they have just dropped us windows 7 users like yesterdays bath water.  Whatever it is, I'm PO'd big time.  Whatever it is, it's MS's fault/problem.

    You mean you even renamed the SoftwareDistribution folder? I must have restarted my PC like 5 times in the span of 5 hours trying to fix this issue. Just glad that it's not related to anything malicious, and I hope it really is MS' servers.

    In the meantime, I guess there's no other option except to use manual updates for MSE.

    If you can get 'manual' updates, I'm amazed.  I was already on manual updating, and I can't even get those anymore.  Don't you just love MS?

    I'm wondering if everyone getting this error message is using windows 7?  That's very important to know!!  If so, then there is something going on with MS as to whether or not they will continue to support windows 7, or how they will continue to support windows 7.
