++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    • thanks for all the constructive replies, answers, critics & support for the Lumia line ++ I remember a quote from Ben Hur "row well & live" (the 2nd after the escape) the Lumias are still in action waiting a new beginning in the product cycle or a quiet retirement // it is a normal choice for a company to promote its great browser to generate revenue // many Lumias make great recharge pit stops // great email & photo service // Cortana is + competitive // they deserve a chance // the company name itself requires that such products to have a future & they are competitive on the sustainability side #World Cup //

    Will miss my Lumia 640 if updates stop. Bit slow, but works perfectly well. Hope Microsoft finds a niche for future Winphones. Can do without most Android apps.

    • the apps in the Windows 10 / Microsoft Store can cover your day // there are the native news apps (society, economy, sport) + many others reuters, nbc, usatoday, cbs // the company has developed many of its core apps also for the rival platforms & has under 10 million downloads : (with a proper strategy Windows Phone users can match that number). There are many native Microsoft productivity apps, e.g. our great calculator, apps for learning, e.g. Microsoft Math, the translator, many native apps for the business sector. On the entertainment side some games are discontinued, but there are many more still active. If Windows 10 compares to an evergreen tree than the branches are important, because may influence the future development of the tree. Windows 10 mobile is a fresh and important branch & the company has to protect a great product //

    That's the way forward.... The demise of Windows phones will be a very big blow to mobile tele architecture.

    To right tid I don't know about the Asian market but here in Australia the Windows Phone is not only dead it never happened in any successful way to start with
