Very happy he admitted at least some part of the truth. Maybe there will be time when he will acknowledge more.
But it was certainly more than just that.
Unfortunately, it all got quite personal at the highest level of management back then. I think it lead to a series of non-optimal decisions, and what happened with mobile was just an echo of that.
They should not have pulled out back then from mobile even if they were shutting down the hardware mobile department (but this was wrong to do too).
They could continue as a 'software' company in mobile, many OEMs had excellent suggestions and more would come if there would be a promise of stability.
W10M is still (!) the bestmobile OS and should be resurrected!
Ideally as a 'tuned' variant of the full W10.
