++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    I've read a lot of this and I'll summarize...

    Lumia was not embraced by new leadership because by that time Lumia sells and Windows 10 Mobile Market Share had dropped significantly. there is a huge cost in maintaining a manufacturing process. I believe they got what they want out of it beyond patents... They did get the Windows 10 devices pushed out so that they could work on the technologies that will be used in mobile. If anything, they should consider licensing Lumia design and name to others. I just don't see anyone building a phone that will probably never come off the 1709. 

    The  future with Windows 10 on ARM is different. That is your "Windows 10 Mobile" of the future. With that said, again why would anyone build phones that will not have a version beyond 1709? Anyone wants to build a "phone", or better put a mobile Device that can make phone call and be a computer in your pocket will do so with CURRENT builds of Windows 10, not older builds based on 1709.

    And to answer this specific question, sure it is. You got the money? I don't know how much we would need to negotiate licensing, engineering design and then get someone - probably in china - to manufacture. Maybe we could go to the original factory and see if they still have the process in place or if they've replaced with other equipment. Would make 950 XL, maybe 950. No other version us worth making. Really 950 isn't so we will start with the XL.

    How man do you think we can sell? lets estimate some costs.

    • at least we can learn new things here in this fan base ++ hope that the MS Lumia users are more than a fore-guard for a new mobile device // testing is necessary to upgrade the quality of the software // the Lumia hardware has been very competitive in Q4 2015 - 2016 & even now it is competitive & for a Windows fan the OS is a clear favorite (especially now when is working much better) //
