Yes, indeed - and another thing:
This all started as a discussion of the future of Lumia cell phones and, I suppose, the reasonable relationship to WIN10 mobile. We all have to admit that WIN10 mobile is essentially dead based on everything MS has said.
The UWP question has its own issues lurking in the background related to the future of the OS itself. Although the rumored "Andromeda" path has gone dormant, something along those lines is bound to be out there in the bowels of Redmond and whether or not
the current UWP fits into its requirements will be a major factor in UWP longevity in the future.
As of late 2017, the portable device linked to Andromeda had a minimum estimated USD $1,000 price tag which, as Apple has discovered with its recent releases, is just a bit too steep for the average person they hoped to interest in a purchase. For myself,
I can get both last year's (as it were) iPad and iPhone that will sync wonderfully and offer broad flexibility for well under that.
I'm keeping my Lumia 735 for now, but I'm just sayin' . . .
