++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    how will Microsoft embrace 5G exactly? Make believe new phones? From a fake factory? With absolutely zero partners? Is this coming before the Chrome based Edge Browser or after?

    • great answer, but Volkswagen has evolved & to this day it is clearly in the top 5 manufacturers (with Toyota, Hyundai, GM & Ford) & has plans to go electric also (really hope that Microsoft Lumia will embrace 5G when the time is right)

    ++ as citizens of the global village it is very important to have a (or more )+ sheriff(s) in town & it is very important for the world to have an empowering message from the White House (I like the clear, strong statements of VP Pence on foreign policy trough which democratic principles are reinforced) //

    Sorry, but I can't let this almost criminal string of non-sequiturs on the long-lost topic go unchallenged.

    First, anybody quoting Mike Pence should know that one of his nicknames when he was in Congress was, "Mike Dense"; an allusion to his demonstrated inability to actually grasp the essentials as opposed to effectively parroting the party line. I'd be afraid to actually have to watch him figure out how to set up and run an actual W10 mobile phone. It won't be on YouTube unless SNL runs a skit.

    Second, Volkswagen established its position with a 4 cylinder, air-cooled engine in various configurations and frames. I know that because I rebuilt and ran any number of the little gems, both beetles and buses starting in the 1960's. You will note that VW quit building these years ago (their last plant was in South America) because the market changed. Do I miss them? Yes, for many reasons. Do I spin my wheels trying to organize and get VW to bring them back? No, because somewhere along the way I figured out that I had better things to do.

    The essential to be grasped is that the market has changed and manufacturing has ceased both for VW and W10 mobile phones. Sadly, however, we're stuck with Mr. Dense for the foreseeable future.

    • the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has become a world leader in terms of output, by emphasizing the basic product, translated also in the well-known slogan : "Volkswagen : Das Auto" ++ I wish for a similar approach from Microsoft Lumia as "Das Windows Smartphone" (the company could differentiate itself from some rival approaches, which put emphasis on subscription services)
