++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    Let us hope so. I would have loved to see Andromeda OS on a phone. I saw images of an early release of it on the Lumia 950. It does not look too bad. I am not sure if it would have supported XAP apps though. I have a question, is the Surface Duo line appealing to more and more people in the smartphone market? Although it is running Android, some say that it is appealing to a small number of average folks (not talking about developers or people with certain kinds of jobs that would find the Duo very useful).

    I originally bought my unlocked 640XL directly from Microsoft to use on Sprint, which I did until I switched to T-Mobile about 5 years ago. Still on T-Mobile. I haven't had any problems moving my SIM from my first Android phone to another just this past fall on T-Mobile. No need to go to the store.

    The 640XL is a 4G phone and should be good for awhile as long as it lasts.

    I don't know about locked AT&T phones, but I would definitely beware of them on the used market.

    Android does take some getting used to. I got a second phone with Android about 3 years ago so I would have apps and I'm still trying to figure out some settings and finding ones I didn't even know about. It's a learning curve. However, it is nice to have supported apps.

    Some WP devices can still work after the 3G shutdown such as the Lumia 950 and Lumia 640 and their XL variants, but I strongly believe that these and their XL variants needed to be made for AT&T (have AT&T IMEIs) for them to work (at least on the AT&T network). The thing is that such phones are still obtainable but a lot of them are used phones. As such, you have to be mindful of that. You would not want to spend money on stuff that is no good. I have a Lumia 950 on Cricket Wireless (that uses AT&T's network), but it is an international unlocked phone (new one) so even if I carry it over to AT&T, it may not work.

    You can try getting one that can work with HD calling but be mindful of the price and quality of the phone. I do not need so many apps but I might have to consider what might be needed so that is why I will switch to Android.
