++ the future of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones ++

++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    I'm done. This OS is dead, with our without the Surface tablet that folds down. There is zero chance of any Windows Mobile system being anything more that a joke.

    • as you know F1 cars do not have the standard features of road cars (e.g. doors). As for issues like printing problems, be inventive put your document in the cloud & download to your favorite device or use a data cable or email, then you can print even in 3D. The fans have to see what can perform the Windows Phone & only after that to dream about the road back into the future //

    You mean the Twitter page that no one has posted to in almost two years? Or the Google + pages that are simpy ads for IT services? Yep thats exciting. 

    I have just read two reports that wrote how all support for the mobile OS is expected to end in December 2019. Uhh. That is so exciting. I am on the edge of my seat. 

    So a fresh feeling for an app is what, that it actually works? That would be exciting now, right? BTW, who here using a Windows phone can print from a variety of printers from said phone? No? The hell you say! 

    And yes. The Microsoft mobile OS is just like an F1 car. But only if the automaker decided not to add such basics as doors, tires, brakes, a steering wheel, windshield, engine, A/C, battery. Hood ornament, cup holders, seats, a trunk, radio, or keys. I wanted to go longer, i ran out of parts.

    And yes, i sympathize with Windows Phone users who want their phones to, oh i don't know, work? Well, sympathy is a bit much. Maybe more like a shrug and a rolled eye.

    sure, old hardware is superseded as you say in another post, I'm using a Lumia 950 so the later win10m still works - if 1709 is the last version to be released I won't be terribly unhappy, it works for what I need.

    to be clear - I would like MS to reverse the decision to drop win10m but I understand why they did it and don't expect any change

    • the devices are aging undoubtedly & if they resist 5 years, we can say they are competitive ++ of course Lumia fans have this existential challenge for their phones in the 2nd or 3rd year of the Lumia line //
    • software updates still provide a fresh feeling & many broken apps are from third parties (many can be fixed with a simple reinstallation &. there are fewer issues on version 1709)
    • like in F1 sometimes it takes time to achieve the right settings
    • the official twitter of Lumia is an indication for the point of time, when the strategy has changed in a - way ++ end of 2016 it is not the end, instead it is the beginning of a new adventure //
