++ the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumia mobile phones is discontinued, but many of them are still in action and competitive. In my opinion, the timing for their launch alongside the first versions of Windows 10 mobile has been a problem (later versions of Windows 10 mobile are more competitive). I compare the path of Microsoft Lumia phones with the path of Mercedes F1 Team. If you have perseverance, you can win, but you need to have realistic intermediary goals. You must not be number one from the start, but rather be on the field, with competitive, distinctive devices (1% market share can be achieved with the core fans of Microsoft Windows). 1% is not a small number of users & translates to even more when we focus on Windows users. So my question is for Microsoft & fans // is it possible to continue the manufacturing process of Microsoft Lumias for the fans of the brand & Windows ? // ++  #theWindowsthatneversleeps +

    Hmmmmm windows phones are F , I even download the app outside the store & went to my settings to change it to developers mode so that I can install apps outside the store but still it didn't work. Am missing that uc browser because I use it to download movies very easy. Thanks

    If you've been following this discussion, you'll see that one of the issues with W10 Mobile is the problem with updates killing apps. This happens when either the new code will not support an old app or the developer drops the old app support and moves on to something else.

    The UC Browser is still in the MS Store, but not for mobile. The app is now intended for tablet architecture and variations thereof. I have the app on my Lumia and still use it on occasion although I tend to use Surfy as an alternative to EDGE.

    I had hoped at one point that MS might have a repository for old apps, but I know that is unlikely as one of their reasons for the store was to limit presentation of available apps to those they were confident would run on their current OS platform whatever that might be.

    Sorry 'bout that.

    • according to // statista //, Windows Phone is still around 1% market share in the Russian Federation (the best result had been around 4.5% in February 2016) & in the UK still at least 1 from 200 smartphones are powered by Windows Mobile (best result in December 2015 around 3.65%) // so Microsoft is on the map with only investments in software security, design, consolidation & the UWP apps // 

    P.S. the new company of the Wiley Fox Pro will support the device for 24 months // looks like the launching queues of the competition are somewhat shorter & Windows 10 mobile closes in to the latest OS versions of the competition // you have to be fair play in these tech races, just remember the competition involving the rabbit & the turtle (all useful products should have their place on a free, multi-choice marketplace)

    That Wiley Fox new parent is running a production is good news but tempered by the fact that its highlighting MS support will stop shortly.

    Being a hub for F1 is not the same as being a hub for  scale manufacturing of consumer devices, I think it would be a struggle to get the pricing right if you use UK suppliers for anything other than prototypes

    I would love to see MS make a decision to revive mobile but not until they've fixed their issues with mass market support

    I'm fairly sure the Katy Perry video was a product placement during the launch - though I may be wrong.

    The on-going use of Lumia in business is, sadly, more a reflection on resistance to change than genuine desire to maintain the brand, if it were otherwise there would be the same pressure to maintain support for W10M as there was/is for XP
